I'm super proud of Sherrie Martin whose very first solo show 'Meet Your Realtor' met with success at the Tucson Fringe. I was very happy to work with Sherrie over a few months to help her develop her vision.

Below, see some photos of The Who's Tommy which played this March at Chandler Gilbert Community College

Beyond teaching a load of 8 undergraduate courses this semester, I also performed as a clown locally (for some amazing school audiences; for the Yuma Air Show with CSA Events; and some private and corporate events) and internationally (for the World Clown Festival).

I'll be hitting the road this summer, and I'm presently setting up workshops between Denver and Washington, D.C. If you're interested in learning more about what I do and what I teach, see the Instruction page on this site.

Thanks for visiting, and I look forward to collaborating with you!

Back in September I had the good fortune to work with the Phoenix Symphony for whom I wrote an original script for their Super Heroes concert. Then in November I got to collaborate with them again, and with my dear friend Steven Ryan on the Star Wars concert! Here are some photos of the Star Wars concert at Symphony Hall.
Then in October I flew to China to perform and manage the World Clown Festival, held in Shanghai, Anting, and Bengbu, Anhui. I was also a guest speaker at the Jing'an Comedy Festival.

That's me in the middle. With some Superstars surrounding me!
Then a beautiful evening with the AZ Jewish Historical Society for their annual Heritage Awards--collaborating with the ASU School of Music we produced an original cabaret, and provided a jazz trio, a string quartet, and a classical pianist. Lots of great music for a great event.
Finally--the Desert Botanical Gardens' opening night celebration for the Bruce Munro Installation. We had five performers in original costumes to match the illuminated art, and we were joined by Aurora, by Vessel to make a total of nine performers. Big thanks to Kelsey Kelleher for beautiful work on the costumes, Jennifer Cafarella for helping source the best dancers in the valley, and Rachel Bowditch for Aurora by Vessel.

PHYSICAL COMEDY

For some, Physical Comedy is slapstick or mime. Not for Brian Foley. For him, physical comedy is a game that pushes the boundaries far beyond what is expected between performer and audience. Masters of the art like Spymonkey, Peter Pitofsky or Hilary Chaplain have built careers in comedy clubs, theaters, and international festival stages performing a unique style of comedy that references the past, but breaks new ground.

Brian Foley has toured nationally and internationally as an award-winning vaudevillian, physical comedian, and clown. He is an Associate Artistic Director of the World Clown Festival, and Director of Theater and Circus from New York who has relocated to the valley. He has created original comedy material for cruise lines, national tours, and theme park shows, and he has been a teacher of clown, physical theatre, and character creation for NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, ASU’s Theater Department, and the Circus School of Arizona.

You will learn to:

  • Make Bolder Entrances
  • Shatter Expectations
  • Reject the Fourth Wall
  • Exploit the Silence
  • Compound the Gag

  • Create Complicity
